An update has emerged on Everton target Ilaix Moriba, regarding Barcelona’s valuation of the midfielder.

What’s the talk?

According to ARA, via Molineux News, Everton target Ilaix Moriba is available for a fee in the region of £12.8m (€15m) this month.

90Min reported earlier this week that the Toffees are one of a number of Premier League clubs who have the chance to sign Moriba from Barcelona. Tottenham, Manchester United, Wolves and Leicester were among the others.

Upgrade on Davies

Marcel Brands must pounce on this opportunity to sign Moriba. Barcelona want £12.8m for the gem and the Everton chief should cough up the cash to add him to Rafa Benitez’s squad as he could prove to be a big upgrade on existing midfielder Tom Davies.

In the 2020/21 campaign, the Toffees academy product averaged a SofaScore rating of 6.75 in the Premier League for Carlo Ancelotti. This was an improvement on the previous three campaigns, when he scored 6.64, 6.63 and 6.52 respectively, but still far from impressive.

Moriba, meanwhile, averaged a SofaScore rating of 6.94 in La Liga for Barcelona as he made 14 appearances, despite only turning 18 in January. He won an eye-catching 61% of his duels on the pitch, compared to Davies’ 52% last season.

Whilst it is impossible to gauge the difference in quality between the two leagues, it does show that the teenager was able to perform to a high standard under pressure whilst playing for a massive club like Barcelona. Whereas, Davies has been unable to make his mark on Goodison Park after several years in the first-team.

Barcelona head coach Ronald Koeman hailed the midfielder as being very strong last term, saying: “Ilaix scored a fantastic goal, it was an incredible goal and had a lot of impact on the match. He took advantage of the opportunities he had. He is very good at controlling the ball and he is a very strong player.”

This shows how highly the Dutch manager rate him, as does the fact that he integrated him into the first-team despite his young age. Therefore, Moriba could prove to be a big upgrade on Davies if he is able to translate his form over to England, whilst also being five years younger than the Everton man with potential to improve further and develop as a player.

At the age of 18, there will be no rush for him to be an instant success. He could take up Davies’ role in the rotation and learn from the likes of Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure whilst also getting minutes under his belt when needed to aid his growth. This means that he could prove to be a big upgrade on Davies in the long run, as he has time on his side to fulfill his potential.

And, with reports claiming that Andre Gomes could be set for an exit from Goodison Park this summer, Moriba could arrive as his direct replacement and ensure the Toffees don’t miss the Portuguese ace whatsoever.

3- مباراة الأهلي والزمالك المقرر إقامتها يوم الأحد الموافق 19-6-2022 والمعلن ميعادها بجدول الدوري العام هي مبارة النادي الأهلي وسيتم إقامتها على استاد السلام وهو ملعب النادي الأهلي ترسيخا لمبدأ تكافؤ الفرص.

4- مباراة الدور الأول بين الناديين كانت بحضور جماهيري بعدد (2000) ألفان مشجع للمباراة مناصفة بين الناديين بواقع ألف مشجع لكل ناد.

5- مع بداية الدور الثاني لمسابقة الدوري العام تمت الموافقة على الطلب الذي تقدمنا به لوزارة الداخلية بزيادة أعداد المشجعين لجميع مبارايات الدور الثاني بما فيها مباراة نادي الأهلي ونادي الزمالك لتصبح (5000) مشجع لكل مباراة مناصفة بين الناديين بواقع (2500) ألفان وخمسمائة مشجع لكل نادي.

6- جميع تذاكر المباريات يتم طرحها إلكترونيًا من خلال شركة تذكرتي والتي يقوم بشرائها مشجعو الأندية طبقاً لبطاقة المشجع المذكور فيها انتماء المشجع من بداية الموسم والتي تمكنه فقط من شراء تذكرة النادي المنتمي إليه وليس أي ناد آخر.

7- تم الإعلان الرسمي من قبل شركة تذكرتي يوم الجمعة 17-6-2022 عن نفاذ جميع تذاكر المباراة بواقع 2500 تذكرة لنادي الزمالك و2500 تذكرة للنادي الأهلي بالتساوي.

وبخصوص الإدعاء بأن ملعب استاد السلام غير مؤهل أمنيا لاستضافة المباراة فإن وزارة الداخلية والمجهودات العظيمة التي تقوم بها في جميع أنحاء البلاد لتحقيق الأمن والأمان هي الجهة المختصة بتأمين المباريات والأقدر على تحديد الموقف الأمني لجميع مبارايات الدوري العام، لذا يتضح لسيادتكم جلياً الدور الذي تقوم به رابطة الأندية من يوم انتخابها في الحفاظ الدائم في إسلوب إدارتها على تحقيق مبدأ تكافؤ الفرص وتطبيق العدالة بين جميع الأندية.

أما بخصوص ما ورد بخطاب نادي الزمالك إلى وزراة الشباب والرياضة من إسقاطات وتجاوز على كيان رابطة الأندية وعلى النائب / أحمد دياب رئيس رابطة الأندية بشكل لا يليق أن يكون في خطابات رسمية بين الهيئات ووزارة الشباب والرياضة المصرية وإستغلال كيان نادي الزمالك العريق للتقليل من شأن الهيئات الرياضية الأخرى ومن يقومون بإدارتها بصيغ لا تليق أن يخاطب بها وزير الشباب والرياضة داخل بلدنا الحبيبة مصر.

فبرجاء اتخاذ وزارة الشباب والرياضة التحقيق في فحوى هذا الخطاب حتى لا يكون هذا الإسلوب هو نص الخطابات التي تتعامل به الجهات الرسمية مع بعضها في بلد كبير في حجم ومكانة بلدنا الحبيب جمهورية مصر العربية، واعتبار هذه شكوى رسمية لوزارة الشباب والرياضة لممارسة دورها الرقابي والمالي نحو الهيئات الرياضية داخل جمهورية مصر العربية.

Trevor Mutangadura, the board’s general manger, told the Standard that his omission was because he “left for England without signing a contract with ZC”.However, this contradicts what Cricinfo was told in June. Leeds United have been handed a boost in their chase to sign Sassuolo star Jeremie Boga in this summer transfer window.

What’s the story?

The Daily Mail had recently claimed that Marcelo Bielsa’s side have shown an interest in signing the Ivory Coast international, who was previously on the books at Chelsea in his earlier years.

Now, Sassuolo’s chief executive, Giovanni Carnevali, has admitted that the forward has asked to leave the club alongside a couple of the team’s other emerging stars.

He said to 90min (via Sportslens): “Just like Locatelli and Berardi, Boga also asked us to try other experiences. We listened to him and the agents – but no concrete offers have arrived.”

Orta must strike

The £18m-rated Boga has rebuilt his career at Sassuolo after failing to make the grade at Stamford Bridge, but that isn’t to say the natural ability hasn’t been there however.

Hish former coach at Chelsea, Michael Beale, said: “The most unique talent and I’m talking in a window of being 13/14 and he just beat the other team possibly on his own is a young boy called Jeremie Boga.

“He just beat teams on his own, such a lovely boy. I thought wow, this boy is a supreme talent. he can stop and go and over three or four yards, he can just drift past you.”

As per Whoscored, Boga averaged an impressive 3.2 dribbles per game in Serie A last season, which was higher than any Leeds player, even Raphinha (1.9).

He also managed 1.2 shots per game (that would rank him just outside the top five among Bielsa’s current squad), while he boasted a whopping 89.4% pass accuracy (the highest of any player that started more than five times for the Whites).

And, speaking on the One Leeds Fan Channel on Youtube, Conor McGilligan talked up the prospect of Boga arriving at Elland Road and the impact he could make.

He said: “It looks like Boga has been a massive hit with Sassuolo since moving from Chelsea, I believe it was back in 2018. He can play anywhere along the frontline, he’s fast and he’d bring a real variety to Leeds’ attacking play.”

Given Boga has now put in a transfer request, Victor Orta has the perfect chance to land one of Leeds’ summer targets.

Cricinfo staff15-Oct-2008BCCI reschedules Champions LeagueThe BCCI has pushed back the Twenty20 Champions League and its ODI home series against Australia by around two weeks each to accommodate the postponed ICC Champions Trophy that will be held next year from September 24 to October 5.The Indian board, which is organising the Champions League in partnership with Cricket Australia and Cricket South Africa, is likely to hold the second edition of the multi-domestic team tournament from October 8 to 23 next year, sources said. The India-Australia one-day series might be held almost immediately afterwards, from October 25 to November 12, they added.The Champions League’s 2009 edition was originally slotted for September 25 to October 10, but those dates now clash with those of the Champions Trophy for which the revised schedule were announced after the ICC board meeting in Dubai today. The India-Australia clash next year had previously been scheduled to begin from October 13. “The new dates for the Champions League are firm and final and have been approved by the ICC board,” the sources said. The first edition of the Champions League is scheduled to be held this year from December 3 to 10 in Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai.The ICC will hold the postponed Champions Trophy between September 24 and October 5, 2009, it was decided during the second day of its board meeting in Dubai. The announcement ends months of uncertainty about the event which was originally scheduled for September this year in Pakistan but was postponed after several participating countries refused to travel over security fears in the country.The new dates were formalised after detailed discussions between Haroon Lorgat, the ICC chief executive, and officials of various national boards, many of whom will have now have to adjust their international programme to accommodate the event. If this was Odsonne Edouard’s farewell from Celtic then he has waved goodbye to Parkhead in the worst possible way.

The Frenchman has been linked with a move away from the Hoops for a considerable period of time with speculation mounting in the last few days.

Teams in England are interested in securing the Bhoys forward while a bid from Rubin Kazan has also been forthcoming.

However, if Ange Postecoglou was sceptical about accepting the terms offered, he should simply take the money and run.

Edouard has been a fantastic servant to Celtic down the years, scoring 86 times. Yet, he could now leave the club amid huge disappointment.

Postecoglou has been a breath of fresh air to the Glaswegian side and they have improved significantly from an attacking point of view since he arrived.

Though, when it really mattered in the Old Firm on Sunday lunchtime, Celtic struggled to create.

Edouard isn’t the chief suspect in that but when he was presented with an opportunity, he couldn’t find the net.

It was an abject performance from the isolated striker who managed to complete just four passes in the entire match before he was brought off on 68 minutes.

Celtic slipped to a consecutive defeat and this one will hurt immensely, especially after the 23-year-old’s first-half miss.

Kyogo Furuhashi got down the left-hand side and then put the ball on a plate for Edouard inside the six-yard box.

So used to tucking away those opportunities with relative ease, he somehow missed with the goal at his mercy. He tried side-footing the ball home but got it all wrong, skewing the attempt wide.

That was the forward’s biggest moment in the game and indeed Celtic’s as they were left to rue that miss in a 1-0 defeat. Had he scored, Postecoglou would be walking away from Ibrox with a small smile on his face; instead he will be angry with his star striker for failing to put the ball away.

Edouard’s afternoon was capped off by a measly 19 touches – a number that happened to be lower than goalkeeper Joe Hart who took 56 touches.

From those occasions where he had the ball, he managed to surrender the ball on ten occasions. That meant the in-demand attacker gave away possession every 1.9 touches.

Furthermore, he only won 40% of the physical duels he was involved in.

If Edouard does move in the remaining days of the transfer market, this was not a fond farewell. Celtic look considerably better when Kyogo is playing through the middle instead.
