Since Phil Parkinson took over at Sunderland it is fair to say that the majority of his players in his squad have let him down.

Senior players like Will Grigg and Aiden McGeady simply haven’t shown enough, but they’re not the only two, and that’s why Parkinson has lost seven out of 11 games in charge and overseen just 13 goals scored.

It would be understandable if the Black Cats’ boss was desperate to change his playing personnel, and his actions in a recent FA Cup game indicate that he may already be running out of patience.

He made the bold call to start Brandon Taylor at centre-back against Gillingham, who subsequently performed very well and credited his manager for the faith shown in him.

That suggests there could be a path for young players to enter the first-team, particularly as those in the first-team aren’t pulling their weight.

Taylor also spoke highly about his peers Jack Bainbridge and Lee Connelly, who also made the matchday squad against Gillingham in that encounter, and the latter is one to keep an eye on.

Sunderland U23s have disappointed as often as the first team and sit bottom in Premier League 2 with no wins, but despite that, Connelly has shown just what he has to offer.

The striker has four goals in nine games in that competition, despite a lack of service, but his knack of knowing where the target is means he has a lot of skill and could be of good use.

Parkinson lacks strikers in his squad, especially with Charlie Wyke out injured, and it seems that Connelly may fair better under the new boss than under Jack Ross, who sent him on loan to South Shields at the beginning of the season.

The 20-year-old needs experience, as he has some way to reach the level Josh Maja was showing at the same age. But like the now Bordeaux forward he has shown qualities in the youth set-up, and deserves his chance – after all it’s not like Will Grigg is on fire.

In other Sunderland news, bringing in a Director of Football is another step the club need to make, as it could reap multiple benefits.

عن المهاجم الغاني جون أنطوي أوضح: “يعاني هو الآخر من شد في العضلة الأمامية تعرض له خلال لقاء أنيمبا بالقاهرة، وغاب بسببه عن مباراة الإياب في نيجيريا، اللاعب مستمر في برنامج علاجي وتأهيلي ممتد لعشرة أيام قادمة على أمل تجهيزه سريعا في ظل توالي المباريات المحلية والقارية للفريق”.

وتطرق في الحديث عن حالة أسامة جلال قائلا: “مستمر حاليا في برنامجه العلاجي والتأهيلي بعد جراحة الفتاء التي أجراها مؤخرا ومن المنتظر أن يستمر في برنامجه العلاجي لمدة أسبوعين قادمين على أمل أن يعود في أسرع وقت ممكن حيث يؤدي البرنامج العلاجي بصورة مكثفة”.

وكشف الطبيب عن إصابة عمر جابر لاعب وسط الفريق بإصابة تم تشخصيها على أنها “حزام ناري” ويخضع حاليا لبرنامج علاجي مع أحد الأطباء في انتظار قرار عودته للمشاركة في التدريبات الجماعية خلال الفترة المقبلة.

وعن موقف أحمد حمودي صانع ألعاب الفريق أكد المنيري أن اللاعب يؤدي حاليا المرحلة الأخيرة من برنامجه العلاجي والتأهيلي بعد جراحة وتر أكيلس التي أجراها قبل عدة أشهر، ويسير في برنامجه التأهيلي بصورة طيبة على أمل اللحاق بما تبقى من مباريات في الموسم الحالي.

وأوضح الطبيب أن الثنائي أحمد الشيخ صانع الألعاب، والمهاجم الفلسطيني محمود وادي، عاد مؤخرا للمشاركة في التدريبات الجماعية بعد الشفاء تماما من الإصابة التي أبعدتهما عن الفريق لفترة طويلة، ويتم تجهيزهما فنيا وبدنيا، وقرار مشاركتهما في المباريات بيد الجهاز الفني.

Albian Ajeti could be sold during the January transfer window due to how underwhelming he has been, according to Claret & Hugh.

What’s the story?

The 22-year-old was signed for £8m from FC Basel last summer, but has so far made five Premier League substitute appearances and two Carabao Cup starts against lower league opposition, failing to get a single goal.

It has now been suggested that West Ham will look to sell the Switzerland international during the winter window, using funds raised to bring in a genuine back-up option for Sebastien Haller.

The signing of a second striker to offer support for the Frenchman is said to have become a priority for the Hammers.

A shambolic start to the season

This whole move and the fact Ajeti may be sold embodies just how shambolic the first half of this campaign has been for the Hammers.

They currently sit just one point above the relegation zone and have won once in their last ten games across all competitions.

In addition, Manuel Pellegrini is just one game away from being sacked, while Mario Husillos has threatened to walk out on the club due to the criticism he has faced regarding his signings.

Did he really play for us?! No West Ham fan has managed to name all of these obscure Irons signings….

Then there is the run of games that Roberto had between the sticks and the plethora of calamitous errors he made, most notably when he punched the ball into his net against Burnley.

It is difficult to believe that this is a team that went unbeaten in six games towards the beginning of the season, though this arguably adds to the severity of the league position West Ham find themselves in.

This has been a truly shambolic time for the Hammers, to the point where it almost feels comedic, and selling someone in January, having only bought them during the summer would accentuate that even further.

In other news, FFC writers have been discussing whether or not Pellegrini deserves to be sacked.

Garry Monk has offered several Sheffield Wednesday youngsters new contracts, with talks of others also being close to new deals.

Speaking to The Star, the manager said the trio of named young players ‘deserve those contracts’ and his view is to ‘assess all the young lads’ and see what they can do.

The young Owls in question are defenders Declan Thompson and Luke Cox, plus goalkeeper Luke Jackson.

As it currently stands, Wednesday could be looking at a mass exodus in the coming weeks. A grand total of 17 players are on the verge of departing the club, with five set to return from their loan at Hillsborough and a whopping 12 out of contract.

The Owls have had a tough time this season, sitting 15th in the Championship table after losing 15 league games under Monk (as per Transfermarkt).

Another issue with the current Wednesday squad is the ageing senior players. Despite 33-year-old Steven Fletcher being the top scorer, it seems having 12 first team players aged 29 or over is starting to show in the sluggish results. The most recent match ended in a humiliating 5-0 defeat away to Brentford.

Monk has started in exactly the right place in setting up the foundations to recover from a tough season. Of course, Wednesday will need to recruit more personnel in the summer, but rewarding the three young Owls for their hard work and progression is the perfect start.

The more these teenagers train around the senior squad, the more ready they will be when eventually called upon. Additionally, Monk could be faced with a very thin squad in the summer and having young, hungry talent in the ranks will be a good safety net in case the transfer window isn’t as successful as hoped.

If the 41-year-old can shift deadwood, lower the average age of the team and bring in some proven talent, then the Wednesdayites could get back on his side and the team can look to start climbing the table once more.

أعلن الاتحاد الإفريقي لكرة القدم “كاف”، تأجيل مباراة المغرب وغينيا، ضمن مواجهات الجولة الثانية من المجموعة التاسعة لتصفيات أفريقيا المؤهلة لنهائيات كأس العالم 2022.

كان من المقرر أن تُقام مباراة المغرب وغينيا، غدًا الإثنين، على ملعب “لانسانا كونتي” بالعاصمة كوناكري، في الجولة الثانية من التصفيات الإفريقية المؤهلة للمونديال.

وذكر كاف في بيان رسمي أن قرار التأجيل جاء بسبب الوضع السياسي والأمني الحالي في غينيا متقلب للغاية ويتم مراقبته عن كثب من قبل FIFA وCAF.

ولضمان سلامة وأمن جميع اللاعبين وحماية حكام ومسؤولي المباراة، قرر FIFA وCAF تأجيل مباراة غينيا ضد المغرب المؤهلة لكأس العالم 2022، والتي كان من المقرر استضافتها في كوناكري، على أن يتم تحديد موعد لها لاحقًا.

Brighton and Hove Albion have released young midfielder Jordan Davies after a spell in the club’s U23 side.

Davies, who is capable of playing in a variety of positions, signed for Brighton from Welsh side Wrexham in January 2017 after impressing during a loan spell with Welsh Premier League side Bangor City.

The 21-year-old immediately came into the Premier League side’s U23 side, netting his first goal for the club against Middlesbrough in the Premier League 2 at the Amex Stadium.

After helping the Seagulls gain promotion to the top flight of U23 football, Davies further went on to play a part in the Football League Trophy.

Featuring 13 times this season in youth league action, Davies had impressed with five assists, but his future will now be away from the club.

Davies, who was once compared to Gareth Bale by former Bangor City manager Andy Legg, will now look for a new club to pursue his professional career.

The youngster’s impressions have been good this season, gaining those previously mentioned five assists, but it seems that has not been enough to warrant a contract extension.

Interest should emerge from some clubs in the Championship or League One, and the Welshman could be in a good position to find a new club, with financial issues from the pandemic set to see clubs make cut-price moves.

The U23 system is a very debatable one and it does seem that sometimes, clubs fill their squads to fulfil fixtures, rather than look at bringing such quality through to the first team.

وكان المصري قد أعلن عن ضم أحمد علاء مدافع الأهلي وطلائع الجيش، في أول صفقات الفريق البورسعيدي طالع التفاصيل من هنا.

ونشرت الصفحة الرسمية للنادي المصري علي موقع التواصل الاجتماعي “فيس بوك”، صورة لـ أحمد الشيخ بقميص المصري، معلقة عليها: “رحبوا معنا بثاني صفقاتنا للموسم الكروي الجديد، المايسترو أحمد الشيخ”.

وأضافت: “أحمد الشيخ مصراااااااوي”.

وتابعت: “الشيخ انضم للمصري بعقد يمتد لثلاثة مواسم اعتبارًا من الموسم الجديد 2022/2021 وحتى نهاية موسم 2024/2023 ، حيث قام اللاعب بالتوقيع على تعاقده مع القلعة الخضراء في حضور لجنة التعاقدات ممثلة في الأستاذ محمد الخولي نائب رئيس النادي والمهندس عدنان حلبية والأستاذ أحمد الشملة عضوا المجلس.

أحمد الشيخ بدأ مسيرته في تليفونات بني سويف، ثم انضم إلى مصر للمقاصة، وشهدت هذه الفترة تألق كبير للاعب، وبعدها انضم إلي الأهلي في موسم 2015، وظل مع الأحمر حتى 2020، واخيرًا انتقل إلى صفوف بيراميدز الموسم الماضي.

تجدر الإشارة إلى أن إدارة نادي المصري مازالت تواصل البحث عن مدير فني جديد لقيادة الفريق، بعد رحيل علي ماهر.

وأنهى المصري الدوري في الموسم المنقضي محتلًا المركز الخامس برصيد 50 نقطة.
