The FAWSL Players’ Player of the Year Sophie Baggaley has enjoyed a meteoric rise to the top of the women’s game and she has spoken to Football FanCast about how she became a professional, and what she hopes for the women’s game in the future.

She impressed last season at Bristol City, helping them to a sixth-placed finish, but prior to that was part of the Birmingham Ladies squad which made the FA Cup final in 2017.

At only 22 Baggaley’s career has been short but filled with success, and she hasn’t been afraid to move around when necessary in order to pursue her goals.

Speaking exclusively to Football FanCast, she said: “I used to play football in the playground with my friends at lunchtime, then I went and played for my friend’s team and from there I was scouted by a Ladies team, which was Derby, and my first senior team was Birmingham and it went on from there.”

The move to the West Country has brought tremendous individual success for Baggaley, and if she continues her current form she could soon work her way into the England set-up.

However, despite her own achievements she also has an eye on the overall state of the game, and hopes that it continues to grow in the way it has since the end of the World Cup, with West Ham Women vs Tottenham Women drawing a crowd of 24,790, the second-highest attendance in the competition.

Baggaley added: “Hopefully it will progress as much as it has in recent years so hopefully bigger crowds, lots more girls playing the game from when they’re small, more involvement and hopefully the quality gets better and better.”

يزعم التقرير أن أرتيتا سيكون مسرورًا للتعاقد مع ديبالا كخطة بديلة إذا عاد أوديجارد إلى ريال مدريد.

ومع ذلك، من المرجح أن يواجه آرسنال منافسة شديدة على توقيع ديبالا مع المنافسين اللدودين تشيلسي وتوتنهام.

وأضاف نبيه أن جميع اللاعبين ظهروا بحالة تركيز شديدة خلال فترة التوقف الأخيرة، حرصًا منهم على حجز مقعد أساسي في تشكيل الفريق.

وأتم نبيه تصريحاته قائلا: “وضع الجهاز الفني واللاعبون الفوز على مولودية الجزائر كهدف رئيسي لهم لإحياء الأمال في الصعود لدور الثمانية بدوري أبطال إفريقيا”.

Beram Kayal, Jonathan Leko, Sam Field, Josh Cullen and Conor Gallagher.

All of these players were signed on loan deals by Charlton back in the summer, but none have performed as impressively as the last name on the list.

Having arrived from Chelsea, following a 2018/19 campaign in which he made the bench for the Blues’ Europa League final, one would assume that nobody expected Gallagher to perform this well.

The 19-year-old already has four goals and an assist in ten Championship starts for the Addicks, and won the EFL Young Player of the Month award for August.

It can often be tough to maintain a good run of form, but here are two reasons why Gallagher should try his best to.

He will get chances at Chelsea under Frank Lampard

With only two months of the campaign gone, Lampard has proven that he is willing to place his trust in young players if he feels they are good enough.

The former Chelsea No.8 has coaxed excellent results out of Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount, who have scored eight and four goals respectively in the Premier League this season.

Fikayo Tomori has also enjoyed a consistent role in the starting XI with five starts to his name, and seems confident in his own ability under Lampard – his long-range screamer against Wolves is proof of that.

Lampard values performances in the Championship 

Forgetting the fact that the Chelsea boss is actually giving chances to young players, he clearly values good performances in the second tier.

Lampard has handed Tomori, Mount and Abraham the chance to shine at Stamford Bridge this summer, and all three of them are players who impressed in the Championship last season – Tomori and Mount helped Derby to the playoff final, whereas Abraham hit 26 goals for Aston Villa.

With so many footsteps to follow, the lively-looking Gallagher has plenty of reasons to keep impressing in the second tier.

According to Football Insider, Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund have their eyes on Wolves teenager Chem Campbell.

What’s the word?

The reports suggest that the German club are keen on continuing the trend of bringing young English talent across Europe as seen first-hand with Jadon Sancho, while more recently the likes of Ademola Lookman and Jonjoe Kenny have made similar moves to the Bundesliga.

Wolves are at serious risk of losing the 16-year-old as he is unable to sign professional terms at Molineux until he becomes 17 in December, and by then, he may well have had his head turned by such a big club as they have competed in the Champions League in eight of the last nine seasons.

Campbell is yet to feature for the west Midlands club on the senior stage, but he has clearly caught the eye of manager Nuno Santo after he was invited to train with the first team during pre-season.

He’s also currently playing well above his age group following his promotion to the U23 squad.

Would go against Fosun’s aims

Fosun have made it clear in the past that they would like to build something special at Wolves, and the first stages of that have occurred with the club winning the Championship in 2018 before earning a spot in the Europa League after just one season back in the top-flight.

Nuno’s men romped through the qualifying rounds to make the group stages of the competition, too.

Now the owners want to see the west Midlanders begin to build from within with Morgan Gibbs-White being the only real academy graduate to properly breakthrough in recent years.

The 19-year-old has gone on to make 63 appearances since making his debut aged 16 back in January 2017.

Meanwhile this season, the likes of Taylor Perry and Luke Cundle have been able to feature in the Carabao Cup.

Losing Campbell would be a hammer blow to Fosun’s ambitions considering the Wales U17 international clearly has something about him as he is playing several years above his own age group – if he continues at that rate, he could well be part of the first-team fold before he leaves his teenage years.

The promising starlet has netted twice from midfield in six appearances so far this campaign, per Transfermarkt.

Wolves simply need to tie him down to a professional deal in December if they want to truly stay on track with their academy aims.

Jurgen Klopp has consistently picked the same midfield three this season but some Liverpool fans would be delighted to see another player brought into the fold.

Fabinho, Georginio Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson have all featured regularly this term but the inclusion of Naby Keita, in place of the latter, is an exciting prospect for supporters.

Many believe that trio would be very effective, and it is possible Klopp would have utilised the Guinea international more frequently had he not been injured for most of the campaign.

One fan has described that possible midfield as “deadly”, but there is no real reason for the manager to implement it as of yet, as those players remain available for selection and the Reds have won eight from eight in the league.

That means these fans will have to wait until they see their “dream midfield”, but the following reactions suggest they will be overjoyed when that time comes.

وأوضحت الشبكة أنّه إذا لم يتمكن جوميز من العودة بنهاية الموسم الجاري، سيكون جاهزًا للتواجد مع ليفربول في فترة الاستعداد للموسم الجديد 2021/2022.

Charlton welcome Derby to The Valley this Saturday, with both sides in touching distance of each other.

The south Londoners find themselves 10th with 18 points to their name, just four off the Championship summit.

Below them, the Rams are just three points back having amassed 15 so far, so Phillip Cocu’s side should be motivated by the chance to eat up some ground on a side in touching distance of themselves.

Both sides have some impressive individuals such as Martyn Waghorn and Conor Gallagher, but there is another man for Derby who may well cause Chris Solly some issues on Saturday.

Who is it?

Tom Lawrence.

The 20-cap Wales international has started the season in fine form out on the left flank.

Lawrence has scored three goals in nine Championship appearances so far this term, and also netted a goal in the UEFA Nations League for Wales.

The 25-year-old – formerly of Manchester United – takes 2.9 shots per game on average, and also completes 1.8 dribbles per game.

Seeing as Lawrence should line up on the left flank, as he has done so 12 times already this term, Charlton right-back Solly will most likely be the man tasked with stopping the tricky Welshman.

Does Solly have a chance?

The 28-year-old definitely has a chance at stopping Lawrence, although it will unquestionably be tough.

Solly has made six Championship starts this season, averaging 1.5 interceptions per game as well as 0.7 tackles per game – the Addicks academy graduate also records an impressive 3.3 clearances per game.

Charlton have kept three clean sheets this season and have also conceded just 12 goals in 11 games, which is a pretty decent average of barely more than one goal per game.

Due to his individual ability from a defensive point of view, coupled with how Bowyer has organised his side to be a solid unit, Solly has a great chance at stopping Lawrence from causing chaos in attack.

It will, however, require full concentration from the Charlton defender, and a slip-up against the Rams danger man could be extremely costly.

وأتم: “أنت قائدي في الزمالك ومنتخب مصر، هذا ما تعلمناه، إذا كان بيننا أزمة فالصغير يعتذر للكبير، وتكون بيننا وبين بعضنا”.

واختتم: “آسف أنني تحدثت عن فاروق، كان من المفترض ألا يحدث ذلك، جعفر من أساطير الزمالك وقادة الفريق لا يغضبون، وحقك علي”.
